At 3.6 Mt, India's 19 - 25 May steam coal imports dip 21% week-on-week

With a staggering total of 25,61,776 metric tons, Indonesia accounts for approximately 71.04% of India's total steam coal imports from 19 to 26 May. This significant share highlights Indonesia's pivotal role in meeting India's energy demands.

South Africa follows as the second-largest contributor, supplying 4,73,983 metric tons, which constitutes around 13.14% of the total imports.

Other notable suppliers include Mozambique and Russia, which provided 1,91,290 metric tons and 1,62,650 metric tons respectively. These figures represent 5.30% and 4.51% of the total imports.
